Hunter x Hunter (2011)

Hunters devote themselves to accomplishing hazardous tasks, all from traversing the world's uncharted territories to locating rare items and monsters. Before becoming a Hunter, one must pass the Hunter Examination—a high-risk selection process in which most applicants end up handicapped or worse, deceased.

Ambitious participants who challenge the notorious exam carry their own reason. What drives 12-year-old Gon Freecss is finding Ging, his father and a Hunter himself. Believing that he will meet his father by becoming a Hunter, Gon takes the first step to walk the same path.

During the Hunter Examination, Gon befriends the medical student Leorio Paladiknight, the vindictive Kurapika, and ex-assassin Killua Zoldyck. While their motives vastly differ from each other, they band together for a common goal and begin to venture into a perilous world.

ABSOLUTE CINEMA, MAN!
I tottaly recomend it for everyonee. Honestly, for me, the worst arc, is like, 7/10, HOW THAT'S EVEN POSSIBLEEE?!? I loved the main characters, the antagonists and the deuteragonists, It has such a great CAST.
Fantastic soundtrack, I even saved the playlist on Spotify.
The storytelling is sooo good, It's definitely not a classic journey, and it makes perfect use of kishôtenketsu.
there are a very few things I tought could've beem better, but they're TINY compared to everything I loved.

Mixed Feelings

I watched this when I was like 14 or around that age. Way to many episodes for a human being to watch and can be a slog but there are some redeeming factors. The characters are kind of cookie cutter but its not that bad so. If you are young and have a lot of time on your hands I would recommend this one for you. If you are over the age of 15 and gainfully employed you probably have more important things to do. The art was ok, the animation is good at times mediocre at others. The story is typical shonen slop which ... is fine for what this anime is.

Honestly, this is garbage.
Watched it twice with a few years gap in between just to make sure.

I used to watch and like Dragon Ball/DBZ when I was a teenager, so I totally understand people who watched this when they were children/teenagers will feel an emotional connection to HxH. That, however, does not make this series good.

Bad/unappealing character design, extremely drawn-out action and plot, childish and one-dimensional characters whose actions make little to no sense, abilities that are supposed to be cool but end up looking silly (maybe with the exception of Netero's); all of it made this series really hard to enjoy.

If you like mindless ... shonens, and/or your prefrontal cortex hasn't fully developed yet, this might be the anime for you. Otherwise, don't bother.
