Synopsis

Shinichi Kanou is a shut-in otaku with a vast knowledge of anime, manga, and video games. One day, after applying for a job in hopes of escaping his secluded lifestyle, he is kidnapped and transported to the Eldant Empire—a fantasy world filled with elves, dragons, and dwarves. Trapped in this strange land, Shinichi is given an unlikely task by the Japanese government: to spread otaku culture across the realm by becoming an "Otaku Missionary."

To accomplish his mission, Shinichi has the full support of the Japanese government, as well as the half-elf maid Myucel and Princess Petralka of the Eldant Empire. Together with this ragtag bunch, he will overcome the obstacles of politics, social classes, and ethnic discrimination to promote the ways of the otaku in this holy land.

Despite airing over a decade ago, this anime still feels relevant nowadays. It's crazy to see how things have changed since COVID—the medium is now viewed in a completely different light, and overall more positively.

This series aims to serve as an introduction to otaku culture, and it absolutely nails it. Most of the stereotypes are depicted correctly: we get different races such as elves, dwarves, beast-people, and lizard-men, along with references to great manga like Kaiji. The tropes are also faithful—the maid, the spot-on fanservice, and the not-so-subtly hinted romance. And, of course, it wouldn't be a true representation of the medium without an onsen ...

Mixed Feelings
So in 2013, they thought, let's animate Outbreak Company. The story is just let's get an underachieving kid that somehow can outsmart the entire Japanese government, hold them hostage whilst he lives out his fantasy anime life. You get a mass of misnamed tropes and mentions throughout the show. Everything from a Loli queen to a boy love army girl with perverts everywhere. Whilst the show isn't bad to watch, the last 3 episodes are so rushed and so overfilled with trying to cram everything in, it just sort of ruins the flow. Episodes 1-9 are a nice pace, an otherworldly show, some conflict, but ...

All in this anime is cringe.

Characters are average or useless, but the worst of this show is without a doubt his main character, Kanou Shinichi is weird like i never seen this level of cringeness.
The plot just make no sense, the most of this anime is about ecchi and integration of characters listed as " loli/Half-elf/werewolf ect." placed here for making ecchi/moe scene.
I'v never write a review on MyAnimeList before but for the first time i really can't understand the good reviews about this show.
And i have seen a lot.

I totaly can't recommand this useless wast of time.

Anime in Real Life: Akihabara, the City of Anime

Akihabara is perhaps the most (in?)famous place in Tokyo for anime viewers. In fact, you could call it the City of Anime. Let's take a look at how Akiba is portrayed in different anime. Note: As with the previous AiRL article, mild spoilers may occur in screenshots of the various series.
