Synopsis

Ken Kaneki has finally come to accept the monstrous, flesh-craving part of himself that he has feared and despised for so long. After escaping captivity and torture, Kaneki joins Aogiri Tree—the very militant ghoul organization that had abducted him, leading his friends to question his true motive and loyalty.

As tension between the government and the ghouls continues to rise, the Commission of Counter Ghoul, the government's specialized anti-ghoul agency, has intensified their efforts to completely purge Tokyo of ghouls. This threatens the transient peace of Kaneki's friends and former comrades—the ghouls at the Anteiku coffee shop. Aware of the dangerous situation, Kaneki faces several battles that puts his precious fleeting humanity on the line.

Background

Both the Tokyo Ghoul manga and Tokyo Ghoul √A anime concluded with the same last arc, but how the anime arrived at that ending diverged greatly from the source material. Besides changing the ending fight scene and the main major plot of the manga, which was the focus of many chapters in the manga, Tokyo Ghoul √A also features a watered-down and greatly changed version of the source manga's final arc.

Episode 1 was previewed at a screening at TOHO Cinemas, Nihonbashi on January 4, 2015. Regular broadcasting began on January 9, 2015.

Tokyo Ghoul √A is the continuation from the first season where Ken Kaneki leaves the Anteiku and goes to work with the Aogiri Tree and this season and the first one for me were the greatest seasons from Tokyo Ghoul frenchise despite the last ones.

The story was mid i guess,it just showed us that Kaneki made a decision and to go with the bad guys and work with them when the Anteiku people were struggling after Kaneki left them.

The animation was good i guess, nothing to say about it to be fair.

So overall Tokyo Ghoul √A was as amazing as the first season, the intro wasnt so ...

Mixed Feelings
Tokyo Ghoul √A is where things started to feel a bit messy for me. I still enjoyed watching it and there were moments I liked, but compared to the first season and especially the manga, the changes made to the story didn't really work that well for me.
The decision to take a different direction from the source material was interesting in theory, but the execution left me feeling like something was missing. Some characters and important developments didn't get the attention they deserved, and certain choices became even more confusing considering what happened later in Tokyo Ghoul:re.
I don't think this season was terrible, and I ...

What is it with Japanese creators coming up with these weird titles. “Root A”? There’s practically nothing in the series that even warrants such a title. Why not call it “Tokyo Ghoul 2” instead? Anyways, I’m getting ahead of myself, I’m sure Sui Ishida has good intentions for the inclusion of a square root and a letter fused together.

Personally I didn’t think this was like the worse thing I’ve ever seen like many people make it out to be. But, then again I’ve seen a lot of bad anime – the medium is just littered with trash from top to bottom. Sure, the show completely ...
