Another recap that exists more for utility than necessity.

Recaps always leave me conflicted. I understand the idea of ​​recalling important events before the continuation of a work, especially in anime with many narrative details. But, at the same time, I wonder if this is really necessary when the story should be able to stand on its own.

In the case of the recaps of Part 2 of 86, it's exactly what the title suggests: a summary of the events already shown. There are no new relevant scenes, extra development, or new information. It's just a review of the important moments of the season.

Perhaps it's useful for ... those who haven't watched 86 in a long time, since the work has political and emotional elements that can end up being forgotten. However, for those who followed it normally, watching this gives a feeling of constant repetition.

Another problem is that 86 works a lot because of the emotional weight of the events. Seeing everything condensed into a summary significantly reduces the impact that the original narrative built up throughout the episodes.

The technical quality remains good, of course. The animation, soundtrack, and direction follow the pattern of the main series, but that's because the recap reuses existing material, so I don't consider it exactly a merit.

In the end, I didn't think it was bad because it serves its purpose. I just didn't find it interesting or necessary either. It was a totally neutral experience: it doesn't please, it doesn't displease, and it will probably be forgotten shortly after.

If you've forgotten events from the second part, it might be useful. Otherwise, you can skip it without missing anything important.

Os recaps sempre me deixam dividido. Entendo a ideia de relembrar acontecimentos importantes antes da continuação de uma obra, principalmente em animes com muitos detalhes narrativos. Mas, ao mesmo tempo, fico pensando se isso realmente é necessário quando a história deveria conseguir se sustentar sozinha.

No caso dos recaps da Parte 2 de 86, é exatamente o que o título entrega: um resumo dos eventos já mostrados anteriormente. Não há novas cenas relevantes, desenvolvimento extra ou informações inéditas. É apenas uma revisão dos momentos importantes da temporada.

Talvez seja útil para quem ficou muito tempo sem assistir 86, já que a obra possui elementos políticos e emocionais que podem acabar sendo esquecidos. Porém, para quem acompanhou normalmente, assistir isso passa uma sensação de repetição constante.

Outro problema é que 86 funciona muito pelo peso emocional dos acontecimentos. Ver tudo condensado em resumo reduz bastante o impacto que a narrativa original construiu ao longo dos episódios.

A qualidade técnica continua boa, claro. A animação, trilha sonora e direção seguem o padrão da série principal, mas isso acontece porque o recap reaproveita material já existente, então não considero exatamente um mérito.

No fim, não achei ruim porque ele cumpre seu propósito. Só também não achei interessante ou necessário. Foi uma experiência totalmente neutra: não agrada, não desagrada e provavelmente será esquecida pouco tempo depois.

Se você esqueceu acontecimentos da segunda parte, talvez tenha alguma utilidade. Caso contrário, dá para pular sem perder nada importante.

Those who may have paused the anime for a long time could watch it to get a quick overview. However, 86 is so short that I doubt you would even pause the anime for a longer ... period of time.
