Okashi na Tensei

this a standard isekai where a pastry chef kill in the middle of a pastry competition and reincarnated as the only son of a low noble that been breaking is back to turn a wasteland into a fertile land. the young Pas uses his past life knowledge to improve the land for his own goal of making great sweet again this a some romance although the main character a young boy throughout the series, political games, bandit attack and some battles between noble faction

the story is good with some twist and turn and darker moment but overall a laid back easy anime ... to watch

the artist and animation are good as is the voice acting in the English dub

Surprisingly fun. Though it suffers from generic-Isekai-syndrome, I found the main character rather compelling. It follows more of a medieval civilization-builder type adventure, rather than being a purely food-focused anime, so be mindful if you're looking for something closer to that. Other than, it's a fun quick watch. Fun main character, underdeveloped side characters, somewhat interesting plot, good vibes.

The pacing isn't abysmally bloated, and the finale isn't too flashy, so it does leave you wanting more by the end (in a good way). I don't normally leave reviews, but I saw a lot of very critical reviews up top that I think were too harsh. ... I've watched a lot of generic bottom-of-the-barrel seasonal fantasy shows, and this tops more than a few of them in terms of concept and a palatable main character.

It's hard to explain, but this anime feels super flat. Like there's technically interesting stuff happening, but the characters don't stand out and everything feels generic. The main character knows so much from their past life, and people don't really question it at all. IT's dubbed though, so I kind of had it on as a background watch.

The main character has the most overpowered ability, but they don't take advantage of it. Early on they gain the ability to teleport anywhere, and they don't use it in a dire situation, at least not until it's almost too late. Even then they don't use it to ... it's fullest. Despite how OP they are, the author doesn't have them do anything that grand. It seems they just make sweets to impress people.

Like, many character have generic conflicts, and many plot points are annoying. One character, after being told not to do something by multiple people, does it and almost gets someone killed. Instead of them being punished, we instead try to cheer them up, since they feel bad. It's just not written realistically.

Anyway, at least there isn't really fanservice. I can't really recommend this though. Definition of average.
