First of all, I've known Mob Psycho for a few years now but I never actually started it. I never knew it was this unserious from the fandom and fanarts. I never knew Reigen was such a jerk. Please tell me he's actually a really strong psychic who just have zero confidence. Wow. This is so different from what I got from the fandom 😭 One thing's for sure, Reigen is insuferrable.

I really liked the first episode! It was unusual because of the unusual drawing, but I quickly got used to it. I liked Mob and his teacher, what a duet!

I will watch more in the future but I don't understand a thing. Most first episodes hook me instantly but this episode was just somewhat boring.

Like in other cases, I knew about this anime since long ago but wasnt interested. This time I'm watching it because is very popular, I've heard that is very good and I watched one punch man and I liked it, because this one is very similar will I like this one as well? In fact too much similar, the artstyle, the op careless protagonist, is from the same author isn't it? One punch man but with ghosts instead of the superhero stuff I'd said. Before watching it I was expecting something serious but seems like is going be very comedic. Poor Mob, being underpaid by that man hahaha, I like that dynamic. This episode was good, not as good as I thought though. Will be just one punch man but with ghosts? For now it seems like but let's keep watching to see if that's true of it has its one essence.

I think this might be the be in the running for best first episode of a show. Its been a long time since I watched/rewatched Mob Psycho and I know its good but I forgot that its first episode is so great. Both that it is really fun and entertaining but that it also basically lays out the whole idea of the show right up front. One is a really talented comedic writer and I think this series showcases it even better than One Punch Man (which I think got way too bogged down in pointless boring fights).

Incidentally, its funny how similar the monster at the end of the episode was to the Jujutsu Kaisen cursed spirits. I honestly thought that this was a Mappa series for a moment but I guess it was just a funny coincidence of design.

It was absolutely appalling, mc is broken in the first episode. millions of things going on, doesn't really explain much. Terrible voice acting in dub. The mc doesn't look that cool. Doesn't have good world building. No fan service either, or any bath scenes. Bad dialogue and story telling, almost nickelodeon level. Pacing and "Talk-No-Jutsu"
The show loves long emotional speeches, friendship/power-of-feelings moments, and internal monologues. Critics call this repetitive, cringey, or preachy ("talk-no-jutsu"). The story sometimes feels like it resets Mob's growth only to reconfirm his existing philosophy instead of evolving it much. Some arcs drag with filler-like episodes or sudden tone shifts.
