Kodansha announced the winners of its 49th annual manga awards on Monday. Winners are listed in bold alongside other nominated works.

The selection committee of the 49th Kodansha Manga Awards is composed of mangaka Natsumi Ando (Watashitachi wa Douka shiteiru), Tsunami Umino (Nigeru wa Haji daga Yaku ni Tatsu), Etsushi Ogawa (Chuuka Ichiban!), Kouji Kumeta (Sayonara Zetsubou Sensei), Kaoru Hayamine (Machi no Tom & Sawyer), Norifusa Mita (Investor Z), and Makoto Yukimura (Vinland Saga).

@ryzxgum I heard that Hana is a very good manga, but we still have half a season to wait before it premieres. Although, unlike Kashiwagi, we don't have to worry about the studio.

Versus didn't really stand out for me, it was really chaotic and all around the place, I could barley remember one name.

Might be a skill issue who knows

Kagurabachi should've won in the Shounen category, in my opinion. Anyway, congrats to the winners.

never read the others but wind breaker and kagurabachi are very popular so this is a big win for versus

Wow. I'm so behind the times that this is the first time I've learned that ONE has had a new manga for 3 years now and that we literally have an Alexander the Great Vinland Saga equivalent. Also, Nezumi, Windbreaker and Under Ninja are really that highly regarded by critics?
