I am also a huge fan of history, so watching a historical style anime that discusses the effects of war on the population was very interesting, but frustrating because it was rather botched.

Thanks! Maoyuu is...not that good. It isn't THAT bad and I really do think it had potential, but I can't say I would highly recommend it. Of course if you want to watch it, then that is your right.
