Both anime left lasting impressions on me so I hoped you'd get some enjoyment out of them.
Can't go wrong with Astolfo.
I've been enjoying both of the ones I've started so far. Sweetness and Lightning is as heart warming and fluffy as advertised and perfect for my daily dose of happy.
Megami-sama, too, is fun! It's an odd combination of genres and whatnot (to me at least, it's probably common in older manga) but I'm liking the mix of slice of life one-offs and small but significant-ish arcs. Plus, yeah, the art is great! I really like the style and detail, plus the character designs are pretty good too. To be honest I peeked ahead since it seemed like a series that would have a lot of style change over its run and wow yeah it was way different. I didn't actually like it nearly as much but there's a decent chance that changes if I get to it the proper, more gradual, way.
I'll probably not get to The Girl from the Other Side until I finish at least Sweetness, but I'm very glad to receive it. I've seen it in quite a few people's favorites lists and its obviously in a very distinctive art style, so I expect to like it! IIRC there is a Nagabe manga in my PTR that doesn't have a translation, which makes it pretty worthless to me lol, so its good that another of their manga has now moved to the front of my queue.
Anyways, thanks again for the message and reccs!
love to see Trigun in your favorites btw
I plan to read “Yume Kui Merry” soon in the early stages. Unfortunately, the character design is not one of my favorites, so it is a work I would not have been inclined to read if you had not recommended it to me.
As for Osamu Tezuka's “Buddha,” in fact, I have already read only five volumes in the middle of the book. It was a work that I didn't put on my list because I was planning to read the five volumes out of the blue and then read it properly from the beginning. I'm sorry I went to the trouble of explaining the contents to you.
Then, there was just an exhibition of Osamu Tezuka's original works in my hometown, and I have just seen the original drawings, manuscripts, etc., of his works. I have also seen the manuscript of Buddha. So your recommendation is timely and I was surprised there.
I plan to read several Osamu Tezuka works this year. Thank you for considering my recommendation.
BTW really cool that it is a manga that introduced Covid as it happened in real time since the manga started before Covid was a thing.
