This episode had the occult & horror (art) clubs recruiting Nakamura. Peak cinema
He should join the club...

I just cannot help but gush over the artstyle every week, beside the point nakamura is such a realistic dork whom i love so much...
Nakamura only wanting to be Bestfriend for now is of effing cute, Kawamura and Nakamura should became bbf now...
Every gay guy needs her fujoshi friend

I so badly want it to be 50 episode long like back in the days

First off, I want everyone to be aware of what’s happening to Syundei (the author of Ganbare Nakamura-kun). She deactivated her Twitter account and said she’s quitting being a mangaka, all because of harassment from so-called “fans.”

The last three episodes had a lot of censorship—the octopus scene and the piggyback scene with Hirose and Otogiri were the ones fans talked about the most.

Manga readers were really disappointed because those moments actually matter to the story. Meanwhile, these so-called “fans” were applauding the censorship and even harassing the author after finding out that the source material (and her previous works) included things they consider “problematic.”

There’s nothing weird about the octopus scene. We all know Nakamura is kind of a freak who has dirty thoughts all the time. You’ve got to understand that teenagers think like that too.

Second, the relationship between Otogiri and Hirose. Some people feel like it’s a bit weird, which is understandable, especially since Syundei has written a student–teacher relationship manga in the past. But she has already confirmed that there’s nothing inappropriate going on between them. Personally, I see it more as Hirose admiring Otogiri in some way, and there’s nothing wrong with that. It could also just be part of Nakamura’s perspective—again, he’s kind of a freak, so he tends to imagine Hirose with other people, like his friend or even his teacher.

Yet these so-called “fans” kept insulting and harassing Syundei until she eventually decided to deactivate her account.

If you don’t like what she makes, then just stop watching or reading and move on. It’s totally fine if you only want to enjoy the anime, but please stop trashing the source material. And if she really does quit being a mangaka, then we—the real fans of this series—might never get a continuation. We’ve been waiting so long for a new volume…

This issue has gotten worse, to the point that a lot of other Japanese authors have spoken up and pointed out how annoying international fans can be. That’s why gatekeeping can feel necessary—once “tourists” discover something, they sometimes try to reshape it to fit their own tastes instead of respecting the original work.

As a teen myself teenagers are very dirty minded and otherwise its not realistic, Idk why but as soon as people turn into adults they forget how they were as a teen.

The same haters would hate other media for not being realistic. We teenagers always think of teachers trying to flirt with one student or another and some actively flirt with the teachers for one thing or another, Like getting a post on student body, reducing homework, So its mostly about MC's POV in this case, which isnt even pedo, Just a dumb kids active imagination...

Damn people are really dumb, Im not gonna deep into why and what. Acting as if such media didn't exsist prior to today... Having problem with actual pedophilia is correct but fictional ones are crude and written in a way that makes one feel uncomfortable or it might be someones cup of tea because an artist writes what sells in the market and you cannot blame them for writing something to earn its basically the same as selling your body for cash or any other odd or normal jobs, Its a freeaking job... Everyones gotta effing earn... The people who cannot distinguish reality and fiction are to be blamed in this case and scenario...

Harrasment is no way something an author should go through, Even if something is to be considered problematic it is what the author invisioned and every ones view point cannot align, I have disliked works too but people who harass other should face serious consequences... This is so terrible I feel so bad for her, In times where people enjoy rape hero and Stolkholme syndrome, hating an author for such reason is beyond brain deadness, One should only get hate for actual irl problematic stuff, One writes what sells...

This is why Gatekept media tends to be better, I know a media is going to be good when the author despite of western hate doesn't change their writing style because the haters will change their target tomorrow, Those bored no life losers just find enjoyment in torturing anyone and its terrible...

That one banned movie across the world is an solid example because even though people hate it its how the real world is, We cannot escape from Epstein files and such stuff but its responsible on ones part to not completely ignore that media because it teaches us about the real awful situations. A pedophilic relationship only sounds great because its written from the perspective of the two leads in the story, But as an audience it leaves an bad taste in our mouth and teaches us about reality, so i think thats where the job has been done, Depends on how people perceive things, We are all Nakamura. But if u actually dig pedo stuff for it to became reality you're too far gone...

Dont fucking read what you dont like...

Y’all please be sure to support this series in whatever way as the mangaka has been receiving a lot of hate and harassment the last week or so on Twitter.

This was probably my 2nd fave episode so far. I’m so proud of Nakamura for coming out of his shell and getting closer with Hirose. Was it just thanks to the occult lucky water? I think not. That was just the placebo he needed to be more confident and be himself around Hirose. You can see Hirose warming up to him as well so I’m really happy for him!!

The way Nakamura felt he had to hide his love of octopu so he didn’t get made fun of really upset me. Everyone should be free to be themselves and enjoy the things they love and if people hate on you, fuck em they’re not important.

The ED this week is sooo cute omg Nakamura dancing is adorable. Yet another bop as well, whoever came up with these EDs needs a raise

Is that some...progress for Nakamura? Omg, my boy is finally winning!

I really liked this episode, all the interactions between Nakamura and Hirose were very adorable and I hope that their relationship will bloom more (whether it'll remain platonic or not, is left to be seen). It was sad to see Nakamura denying his love for octopuses due to him getting mocked in the past. I think that it's not too far-fetched to assume that his shyness and hesitation to talk to people stems from previous encounters at his childhood, so I'm rooting for his individual development.

This shit gets funnier and funnier with each passing episode. All of the segments were a-fucking-mazing! The mangaka knows how to write some excellent random situations and farm the gags from them so fucking well...

The blue haired girl was such a fucking gem! Another amazing side cast added to the roaster! Hope he joins the occult club, seems like a dumb and fun place, maybe with Hirose?????

Nakamura_noises.exe. He makes all the national geographic animal sounds that they add after they film that shit, also he had a ring moment, even with all that distorted imagery when climbing out of the manhole lol!

Also, who spawned those post-apocalypse high schoolers delinquents, they need to keep making appearances throughout the show, and also bro taught they wanted his ass or sth lmao, poor fucking Hirose....

10/10, another banger ED song as usual with some karaoke from Nakamura this time... Bro this shit is the gift from the BL gods that keeps on giving! So many good shit happening with this show, it does everything and it nails it somehow lol.

Also, fuck those retards harassing the mangaka! Those "censorship" larpers who don't even watch the show or read the shit, most likely they saw that somethings got cut out or changed for the show and now they are larping and barking at the wrong tree, it's like the mangaka is the one who directs and animates this show lol! Actual plague on any type of communities these fuckers, especially when their campaigns bully the authors from sns and now even from making more manga???? What a bunch of fucking degenerates and losers....

Where can I even start? The animation? The good storyline? They did mix both volumes into the anime but it suits so well and flows nicely to the anime. This episode was really nice and funny!
I loved it and especially the scene with the thugs was the scene I have been dying to see animated and now I have it…after this I added Nakamura to my favourites! It’s absolutely the most adorable Bl ever I love it dearly!

These "fans" are called anti-shippers (even if it isn't just shipping the term has evolved to include being anti-anything-"problematic"-in-fiction) and they are ruining everything. Everyone who isn't a complete moron knows that fiction is fiction.

yes, teenagers are dirty minded, I was like that myself, but personally, I don't want to see a teenager portrayed in this way, even if it's the thoughts of another teenager, I have enough context to understand that the main character thinks this way, I don't need to see it on screen. and I think it's perfectly normal that other people also don't want to see teenagers portrayed in a sexual context, it should be the norm in society in general, shouldn't it...that's said, I don't support bulling of the author, there are just weird people in the Internet these days...

@lusikamen Truth be told this is better then western media which showcases teenagers as sex addict. Not hating or targetting u man but its much more tame and anime has much more freaky teenagers too but nakamura is very normal is comparision so the hate isnt justified... And its not sexual compared to 95 % of the media, its at max shoujo flower with a button or two loose kinda lewd. Nothing superwierd with that yk...

Unfortunately for these idiots, it's too complicated. Maybe they just enjoy getting a moment of fame by hating something someone likes, but everyone's nerves are different, and I honestly feel sorry for the author who starts paying attention to this filth and getting nervous about it, instead of just blocking them when these bastards will most likely just stupidly find a new victim for their whining and bullying. Ideally, they should be banned by X-Twitter itself, but that's impossible until a huge number of complaints are filed against the account, and then there's a chance they'll simply be ignored.

@ShiroAlex these new western fans have no respect to authors, and mangaka are typically sensitive too, idk if you notice but artistic people are more sensitive and vulnerable to criticism, so this is just worse since the authors can get traumatized from getting hate like this, Culturally they require acceptance or they never feel fulfilled, they get anxious about the negativity but cannot ignore it cause some are just built like that, Gachiakuta's author or fujimoto sensei or rent a gf's author deal with it effictively not everyone can. Specially right now, so they wont block them cause + there are like 1000s of accounts which make it even more hopeless, x, insta or fb are all very bad at protecting people against harrasment or bullying, i have tried reporting messages commenting and sluring people on insta and insta ignores it sometimes

@InternetAngelAme I'm a pretty nervous person myself, so I can easily understand, and therefore I think the best solution is either to close the post for comments or block it. There were other alternatives to Twitter, but unfortunately, the more people use any social network, the greater the chance of haters and other types of ill-wishers appearing.

@ShiroAlex Same, Im a nervous wreck myself but I can never even block people unless my cousin does it for me, I have quitted using insta countless times because of how insensitive the comments can get, so she is removing herself from the internet which is kinda a good thing but the bad part is the emotional toll made her quit. The part where Nakamura-kun stops telling the boys about the things he likes broke my heart. As a gay man with ADHD and a tendency to hyper-fixate on "niche" things (such as BL-Anime) and being ridiculized for it, specially while being young, hit too close to home. I wish that anyone that watches this anime or reads this comment knows that the things you love are the things that make you special. There is nothing more enticing than watching someone doing/talking about what they love, unapologetically. ガンバレ!

This anime captures the manga's chaos perfectly! And I love the way they do it in an 80's style just like the manga. This feels like it was made with a lot of love, care and respect, and I am happy a queer story gets to have that.

Hirose is so cute!! I just wanna hug him!

The story understands quiet introverts so well. We are not quiet in our heads at all. Instead, our heads don't know how to shut up. It's all chaos there.

I can't recall what part Occult Girl played in the manga, but I feel like she showed up every now and then after this arc. She is also pretty hilarious!

The ED this episode was so cute and gay! Nakamura actually started singing! haha

With all that said, I really hope Syundei-sensei comes back. What the Western fans did was stupid and downright cruel. Trying to force their morals into a fictional world with fictional people, they harmed an actual person who was just following her dreams of drawing, and creating worlds that so many people enjoyed. There is nothing morally right about what they did. They're no different from the religious people shoving their morals into other people's art, and I am completely disgusted.

@yuzaki_fuwa while harassment isnt okay, i do have to correct you on the fact that those scenes were important to the story. they really werent, and while i dont have as much of an issue with it in nakamura (it wasnt that explicit), it not being animated was a much better choice.

a lot of fans that were advocating against this being removed were harassing people who were happy about the changes, which unfortunately led to people harassing the actual author

i will say though that it is entirely fair for people to criticise media for sexualising minors (which i dont think nakamura falls under in the manga at least because of how brief the scene was)

It was a very funny episode! It's good to see Nakamura and Hirose interacting more and it's good to see Nakamura express himself more too!

This episode was genuinely so funny! I had a blast with Nakamura's inner monologue, as well as with the introduction of the magnificent Reiko; she's the best!

I did feel such a pinch in my heart when Nakamura dulled his sparkle and decided to hide his love of octopuses for fear of being seen as a weirdo.

This was such a cute episode. I’m love the blue haired girl’s methods. Really like seeing Rumiko Takahashi’s artstyle. So fucking sad about the author tho.

@AdrianFTW99 Finding out those guys were actually the photography club from a rival high school killed me. ROFLMAO They looked like something from Mad Max: Beyond Thunderdome. LOL
