The first two-thirds of the manga is basically a diet hentai with almost 1-2 sex scenes a chapter. But the story and themes shine through towards the end ; with the result becoming more than just fanservice and ecchi for it's sake.

The MC is a salaryman that get entrapped into looking taking care of a girl and her "needs". You find out later this is actually integral to the plot as more characters get introduced.

Themes like Love vs Lust, Friendship or skinship, and understanding what makes one happy are present througout the work as the two main characters have larger impacts on ... each other than they realize at first.

The art quality is good, but the pacing seems a bit sped up, with a seemingly rushed but satisfying ending after only 32 chapters

Many people will give it a try just from the ecchi covers and art but those that stay til the end will end up with character arcs and resolutions that fit in with story as a whole.

Jokes aside,this is a very interesting story that plays with ideas of identity, assimilation, and acceptance.

You watch the MC navigate the stages of grief (Denial, Anger, Bargaining, Depression, Acceptance?) with return of his friend "Hikaru"

As the BoyLove tag implies this story has homoerotic elements as the MC is trying to square his unspoken feelings for his friend and the thing that looks like his friend in front of him. There are parallels between "Hikaru" trying to blend in and the MC being closeted in a small traditional town.

The art and storyboard transitions are insanely ... good. It captures the Lovecraftian Slice of Life blend it was going for very well. The VA cast does a great job as well, with Hikaru and MC's dialogue being clear double-entendres to homoeroticisms at times.

I put a question mark after acceptance given how the last episode ended but with the post credit scene and a Season 2 on the way, we should get a clearer picture of that very soon.

You know how most people have a 3 episode rule before judging an anime? The same applies to this but give it 3-4 chapters.

At first you might be turned off by the ROUGH art style and vague character designs but things heat up quickly as soon as we get into the titular Tower Dungeon.

Yuva, is a village farmhand/porter that's conscripted to the aforementioned tower with a mission. He meets up with other side characters and they form a party to brave the tower and the challenges it holds for them.

This story is if Chainsawman and Dark Souls did the fusion dance. The ... right mix of violence/gore, comedy, and dashes of dramedy make the engine go. It's a shame that it's only a monthly release because after you catch up you'll want to go deeper in the tower with the squad.

This has all the bones to be a very promising story and maybe an even better anime adaptation since the Violence/gore and comedy blend can be shown well (think Goblin Slayer or Ubel Blatt).

A solid read for fans of Dark Fantasy who also like some comedy sprinkled on top

More of the same from season 1 but with a satisfying ending now that everyone's motives (including the antagonists) are fleshed out. Characters have believable arcs that don't come out of nowhere

The Shonen card battle animations and overall art is still very solid. The soundtrack accompanies each episode very nicely.

As mentioned earlier, the conclusion was good but it left just enough for someone to make a spin off or a prequel; which would be cool to revist this world.

A good change of pace shonen that isn't going to be high up on the lovers of that genre's list. It deserves a shot since ... it's not your typical battle shonen and does a good job of sticking to the rules it lays out from episode 1 (powerscalers go home)

Instead of trading cards, users (or "players") can aquire magical playing cards from a deck that grant them special abilities.

The art design and world building is surprising good and obviously inspired by the Kingsman/UK aesthetic.

The MC is likable, down-on-his-luck type that stumbles into the reality of these cards and a chance of a lifetime. The side characters/cast are well liked and further fleshed out in season 2. No real generic NPCs among them.

The Yu Gi Oh inspired shonen battles are very enjoyable and the stakes feel real. No one has plot armor and the impact ... of the fights can linger for episodes.

A solid surprise for the season it came out. With Season 2 done, you can binge it to get to a satisfying ending

"High School DxD but we replace the chess mechanic with Yugioh Cards!"

That's what the boardroom came up with and they name it Maou Gakuen no Hangyakusha. Both have many similarities

-MC with a special ability
-Harem of girls that can use abilities to back him up
-Plenty of fanservice and comedy to motor(boat) the plot
-Some good drama/flashbacks that develops side characters

That being said, just because it's diet High School DxD doesn't mean it's better. There are clear signs of a rushed ending to avoid axe-kun (the author has had other works cancelled or paused in the past) despite the great art. If it got another 50+ ... chapters to layout the rest of the story and characters it could have been much better.


If you want to breeze through another fanservice/guilty pleasure read in your free time then check it out, but they're better one's out there IMO

A pleasant addition to your "Fellow Men of Culture" library. Not quite on at the level of Prison School or High School DxD, but a very enjoyable and hilariously raunchy romp that knows what it is andfully leans into the bit with gusto

MC is a humble farmer NPC who is a thigh/stockings man; as seen by the THICC radishes he grows on his farm. As the title suggests, the Legendary Hero dies and the MC wakes up in his body, using it (along with his dirty and overactive imagination ) to help save the day.

Great artstyle with attention to detail in all the ... right spots :) The OP is a very underrated banger

The Comedy and pacing is very good while the jokes don't feel overused. The MC uses his ecchiness to defeat his enemies in amazingly satisfying ways. The fanservie is woven nicely into the plot so it's not just there just because.

Give it a watch, but make sure you are by yourself or everyone's asleep. It's gonna be hard explaining this one away to the parents or girlfriend

An emotional hurricane that is not for the feint of heart (hence the trigger warnings before each episode). Not for any gore or lewdness, but this story is a railway cannon directly to the feels. If you need a good cry or a moment to reflect on the journey of life, this is a must watch.

This isn't a character study so much as it is a critique on the failures of some adults and the "safeguards" they set up in society. Although there are no adults on the anime cover, they are 1000% responsible for the conditions inflicted on this cast.

So what better ... MC to observe the flawed and destructive nature of humans than a happy space alien that is COMPLETELY oblivious to their mindsets, motivations, and psyche while being incapable of "reading the room".

In hindsight, it's a briliiant decision because Takopii is the ideal witness to this emotional carnage since he harbors no bias, no grudge, and no affinity for it. He just wants to deliver happy gadgets to put some smiles on the depressed,frightened, scarred faces of these kids. As you can imagine, this is no easy feat.

As mentioned earlier, this is partly a critique of societal failings. Turning a blind eye to savage bullying, domestic disputes in children's homes, and more. In addition, it's shows the potentional ramifications the actions of selfish adults can have on children's mental and physical wellbeing. broken homes make broken children and this is exacerbated even further with broken promises from these adults.

As Takopii tries to navigate all this with his aforementioned happy gadgets he'll adress his sin that the anime title eludes to.

This is a HEAVY but needed watch. Do NOT try to binge this and only watch it if you're in the right headspace as it deals with themes of depression, isolation, suicide, and child abuse. Should be a frontrunner for anime of the season, if not the year.

Do you like Gyarus in your school life harems? If so, you'll like it enough.

Do you like that with a helathy truck ton of uncensored fanservice? Then you'll want to watch this elsewhere and not the sanitized version on Crunchy

Beside that it's a paint-by-numbers SOL/comedy/Harem with comedy drama and all the tropes you expect:

-Dorky loser and his friends, but the girls like him now because reasons? check
-The childhood friend that's trying to escape the friendzone? check
-The Tsundere that totally doesn't want him but does? check

I haven't read the manga so I don't know if the characters are fleshed ... out more but they left some meat on the bone with some of them; including the main girls best friend.

Outside one of the funnier confession moments you'll see in an anime, (and an uncomfortoftably high amount of pedo jokes from the MCs friend; seriously wtf is with that guy?) the store is "fine". Theyre are better Harems and RomComs with more interesting stories but this isn't god-awful.

If you have 3+ hours to kill and have internet connection, it a decent way to pass time. I just don't think it's an anime you'll go out of your way to watch. I'm writing this review now while it's kind of fresh in my head because I'll probably forget about by next season.

You know that old adage "Don't judge a book by it's cover"? That applies to this from the VERY. FIRST. PAGE.

The MC is a scheming egomaniac that gets a love potion off the interwebs to try to make her school teacher fall for her. Her plan goes off the rails in a hysterical (and steamy) way.

The MC's amoral nature helps make the comedy and plot function as she makes all these plans and actions to do what benefits her and her ego, just to watch her faceplant and we readers give her a Simpsons-Nelson "Ha Ha!" and go to the next chapter.

Be warned ... this switches from a bit of a gag manga to a story with multiple character arcs, including our lesbo-in-denial protag.

A hilarious read that will tickle your funny bone while having many "men of culture" moments
